What are my post and packaging options?

All orders will be delivered in Kraft brown paper bags which are recyclable, biodegradable, compostable and even reusable if you get creative! We use brown paper tape if required to secure your parcel.

For UK delivery, we offer two options:

  1. Royal Mail 48 - £3.40 (2nd Class 75p for labels only orders) - Delivery in two to three working days including Saturdays

2. Royal Mail 24 - £4.20 (1st Class £1.25 for labels only orders) - Aims to deliver the next working day including Saturdays

Delivery is free on UK orders over £70 (Royal Mail 48) with code FP70 at checkout

We aim to despatch all orders within 1-2 working days. Thank you for your support!

Please note that there may be additional customs duties payable once your parcel arrives in your home country. Orders will be sent to you duties unpaid and payment of any customs/duties is your responsibility so please bear this in mind before placing an order with us. Couriers will usually contact you about payment and only release the parcel to you once payment has been made

We also ship to Mexico, Nigeria and Israel and add shipping options on an ad hoc basis so if your destination country is not covered, please email georgie@heysewsister.co.uk and we will check if it is possible to ship to your country and also the cost.

In some circumstances, we may need to add on additional postage costs depending on weight and volume of the parcel but will contact you about this.

How do I order the required amount of fabric?

We sell our fabric in 0.5m (50cm) increments. If, for example, you require 2.5m of fabric, enter ‘5’ into the unit box. Orders of more than 1 unit will be cut in a continuous length. Please be sure to check the fabric width information as our fabrics will be of various widths. If you are unsure of how much is required for your project or if sometimes you see a fabric you like without yet having a project in mind, we would recommend buying a ‘safe’ amount or a little bit extra as lots of our fabrics are deadstock or limited in quantity and will not be restocked.

My fabric has a wonky edge!

Sometimes fabric arrives with us from our suppliers with unevenly cut edges. In order to avoid waste and give the customer the benefit of additional fabric (often helpful if having to play pattern tetris!), we will usually include this unevenly cut edge, ensuring that we still cut at least the quantity of fabric ordered by the customer (from the shortest edge of the length of fabric). Uneven or wonky edges are often found in our remnants/end of bolts but please rest assured we will always measure the shortest edge when providing fabric length. An unevenly cut edge will not be a ground for a refund or exchange.

Fabric Colour & Texture

We do our best to accurately show the colours and texture of our fabric. Screen resolution and brightness varies between devices so please bear in mind that the colour and texture of the fabric in real life might appear slightly different from our photographs.

Samples, etc

Whilst we try to capture the colour and texture of our fabrics as accurately as possible, these can vary between screens and in person. If you are not sure about the colour or feel of a fabric before buying, we are happy to capture the fabric as best we can in video and additional photos - please email georgie@heysewsister.co.uk or give us a shout on instagram @heysewsister.co.uk. We can also arrange for a sample to be sent to you. We offer up to 3 sample swatches for free with Royal Mail second class postage to the UK. Please email georgie@heysewsister.co.uk if you wish to order a sample/samples. We would be delighted to help!

What is your returns policy?

We are a small business and are only able to offer returns and refunds on faulty products. We try our best to quality check our fabric before posting so would hope this not to be an issue however we process A LOT of fabric so we can miss things - sorry! The cost of postage will be refunded along with the price of the item if the item is shown to be faulty. Please contact us georgie@heysewsister.co.uk before returning anything to us and to discuss options.
