The all-season, versatile dress/skirt pattern

Waverley is a confident-beginner-friendly showstopper featuring a unique wave design. It’s also quite a quick sew!

Hey Sew Sister - Waverley Dress & Skirt (Multi-size PDF Pattern)
£13.00

This is a PDF pattern and you will be able to download your pattern and instructions after you have completed your purchase :) Due to EU regulations, customers in the EU must purchase this pattern via Etsy and not here. Thank you!

Waverley is an easy-to-sew yet statement piece. An A-line dress with a gathered voluminous skirt ruffle flowing out in a wave shape and finishing at maxi length. It has simple bust darts, optional side seam pockets and multiple strap options to personalise your look. It is a pull-on style meaning no fastenings to sew! You can make the Waverley Skirt by tracing off the two skirt pieces from the main dress pattern pieces and adding in the elasticated waistband.

  • Layered A0, A4 and Projector Pattern Files plus Instructions all included in your download.

  • Size: Bust 32-56”, Waist 24-48”, Hip 33-57” (Please see size chart in slide graphics for full chart of measurements)

  • Light to lighter mid-weight woven fabric.

  • Suitable for the adventurous beginner with detailed, illustrated instructions. No advanced techniques are required.

My samples are made in:

  1. Icey Green Silk Dupion

  2. Green Midweight Slubby Linen

  3. 7.5 oz Denim

  4. Cotton Poplin

Please note that for the green linen sample version, the straps have been “hacked” slightly to be narrower (1cm) and to tie at the front. The silk dupion version also has 1cm wide straps. Instructions aren’t provided for this adjustment but it’s easy to do :) Swipe through the slide graphics/photos for more information as well as tester photos for lots of awesome dress and skirt inspiration :)

Hey Sew Sister - Woven Labels - COSY Collection
from £6.00

Say hello to the cosiest collection of labels to bring some joy and colour to Autumn/Winter. Three ‘poster’ style woven labels featuring hand drawn graphics and text, like a tiny poster. The labels are all flat and rectangular. They can be used in a variety of ways including sewn flat into a garment and sewn along one edge ‘tab-style’. They are ideal as a patch detail sewn onto the exterior of garments.

Available in a single pack (3 labels, one of each design) and double pack (6 labels, two of each design).

Label dimensions:

Coffee & Croissant: 40 x 50mm

Get Cosy: 35 x 45mm

COSY: 30 x 37mm

Packed in a glassine paper envelope which is biodegradable.

Hey Sew Sister - Woven Labels - Go Get 'Em
£6.00

5 x electric blue, baby pink and off white ‘Go Get ‘Em’ flat woven labels.

Each label is approx. 30 x 40mm.

Iron-on Adhesive:

Each pack of labels comes with a sheet of iron on adhesive to help with placement and sewing down. Please note that stitching the label into place is a must and the iron-on adhesive is an aid rather than an alternative.

Instructions on how to apply and use iron-on adhesive:

  1. Cut the iron on adhesive to shape of label.

  2. Turn the iron on to a medium heat with steam.

  3. Place the label face down on the ironing board and then place the piece of iron on adhesive with adhesive side down on top of the label.

  4. Press with the iron for a few seconds then allow to cool.

  5. You should now be able to peel the paper backing from the iron on adhesive.

  6. Decide where you would like to position the label and then place adhesive side down/label face up with an ironing cloth or scrap piece of cotton fabric over the label.

  7. Press with the iron for about 10-15 seconds. Do not touch the fabric or label and let it completely cool down as the bonding process happens with the cooling down of the fabric and adhesive.

  8. Once cool, check the label is bonded to the fabric before moving the fabric.

  9. Stitch the label onto the fabric. You could use a machine stitch and matching thread to stitch all the way around the edge of the label (this is what I did with the Good Luck label on my stripy sweatshirt). If you’d prefer not to use the adhesive you could simply sew a few stitches into each corner of the label or perhaps just sew along the top edge (this is what I did with the Finished label in the neckband of the sweatshirt).

Favourite Things - Woven Sewing Labels by Hey Sew Sister!
from £5.75

I am proud to present two of my favourite things in label form. A bow-tied Westie puppy and croissant just for fun. These are flat labels perfect for sewing onto your fleeces, bags, T-shirts, etc. They can also be sewn into neck seams as the edges are fray-proof!

I hope you love them as much as I do :)
