We are super excited to present ‘ADORN YOU’, a collection of lightweight cottons printed in current colours adorned with pretty bows, in collaboration with Pigeon Wishes. Printed onto a beautiful lightweight cotton (somewhere in between lawn and poplin), this fabric is ideal for making into blouses, dresses and skirts. It would look beautiful sewn into your party dress for the coming festive season. I was definitely channelling embellishment and romance when designing this print and hope you feel pretty wearing it. Croissant Queen is a cute double-sided quilted cotton fabric designed by me exclusively for Hey Sew Sister! After enjoying pre-quilted fabrics a lot this A/W, I decided to have a go at designing my first quilted fabrics. I wanted this fabric to capture the essence of Hey Sew Sister and that is why you will see croissants, bows, polka dots and tartan :) This design features a directionless green and blue croissant print on the “main” side and a tartan/plaid on the reverse. The difference between the sides is that on the main side the stitching is a clean single thread and on the reverse it is a thicker, bobbin thread. Both sides however are perfect to use for you project :)
Digitally printed cotton fabric quilted together with cotton batting. Quilted with a narrow vertical stripe pattern, approximately 1.5cm wide. Expect some minor irregularities and imperfections with the quilting. It is manually machine-quilted by humans. This fabric is ideal for light jackets, trousers and jumpers.

Odette is a pretty print designed by Georgie exclusively for Hey Sew Sister. Elegant swans adorned with burgundy, pink, green and blue bows sit on a classic dark navy blue background printed onto a cotton linen blend fabric.
The fabric is lightweight with a slightly looser, rustic weave and a crisp handle. It has a fine slub texture due to the linen fibres but is overall smooth to the touch. It is best used for garments such as trousers, tops, smocks, dresses, jumpsuits, etc that require a lightweight yet stable fabric. ✨Pattern Ideas Below✨ For a more fluid, drapey fabric, you might wish to check out our same print but on light cotton twill. The print translates as slightly deeper in colour on the cotton twill due to its tighter weave. It comes out a little more relaxed and rustic looking (but still vivid) on the looser weave cotton linen blend.
Screen printing is a manual process and in this case, carried out by skilled artisans in Jaipur. After I had completed my design, the team produced the stencils required and then got to work with the fabric and ink. Due to the nature of hand printing techniques, please expect irregularities and imperfections which unless major will not be considered defects. There may also be some mud marks on the selvedge due to the rinsing process. In my opinion they add to the charm and remind me that the fabric was printed by man (or woman) rather than by machine!
PLEASE NOTE: For some unknown reason, the design was printed across the grain rather than down the grain (in other words, horizontally rather than vertically as is normally the case with printed fabric). As this is a stable and wide width dressmaking fabric, I have not found this to affect the handle, the cutting or the meterage required for my projects but please bear this in mind anyway!

Labels by Hey Sew Sister
Say hello to the cosiest collection of labels to bring some joy and colour to Autumn/Winter. Three ‘poster’ style woven labels featuring hand drawn graphics and text, like a tiny poster. The labels are all flat and rectangular. They can be used in a variety of ways including sewn flat into a garment and sewn along one edge ‘tab-style’. They are ideal as a patch detail sewn onto the exterior of garments.
Available in a single pack (3 labels, one of each design) and double pack (6 labels, two of each design).
Label dimensions:
Coffee & Croissant: 40 x 50mm
Get Cosy: 35 x 45mm
COSY: 30 x 37mm
Packed in a glassine paper envelope which is biodegradable.
5 x electric blue, baby pink and off white ‘Go Get ‘Em’ flat woven labels.
Each label is approx. 30 x 40mm.
Iron-on Adhesive:
Each pack of labels comes with a sheet of iron on adhesive to help with placement and sewing down. Please note that stitching the label into place is a must and the iron-on adhesive is an aid rather than an alternative.
Instructions on how to apply and use iron-on adhesive:
Cut the iron on adhesive to shape of label.
Turn the iron on to a medium heat with steam.
Place the label face down on the ironing board and then place the piece of iron on adhesive with adhesive side down on top of the label.
Press with the iron for a few seconds then allow to cool.
You should now be able to peel the paper backing from the iron on adhesive.
Decide where you would like to position the label and then place adhesive side down/label face up with an ironing cloth or scrap piece of cotton fabric over the label.
Press with the iron for about 10-15 seconds. Do not touch the fabric or label and let it completely cool down as the bonding process happens with the cooling down of the fabric and adhesive.
Once cool, check the label is bonded to the fabric before moving the fabric.
Stitch the label onto the fabric. You could use a machine stitch and matching thread to stitch all the way around the edge of the label (this is what I did with the Good Luck label on my stripy sweatshirt). If you’d prefer not to use the adhesive you could simply sew a few stitches into each corner of the label or perhaps just sew along the top edge (this is what I did with the Finished label in the neckband of the sweatshirt).
I am proud to present two of my favourite things in label form. A bow-tied Westie puppy and croissant just for fun. These are flat labels perfect for sewing onto your fleeces, bags, T-shirts, etc. They can also be sewn into neck seams as the edges are fray-proof!
I hope you love them as much as I do :)

Puppy labels - 5 × 3.7cm

Welcome to the Sister’s Café, a cosy place where you can enjoy a warming drink and pastry, catch up with friends, read a few pages, get on with your knitting…
I hope my new labels will be a cute addition to your sewing, knitting and crochet projects which remind you, every time you see them, to take a slow moment for yourself and perhaps enjoy a treat.
These are larger, patch style labels which are versatile as they can be sewn into the back of your garments as a standard tag or be used as a design feature on the outside.
Available in a mixed pack or as single design packs.
